This logo captures the unity of the Dominican family. The two figures in black symbolizes the youth, with joy and awelcoming gesture. This means as Dominican Youth we welcome each other and await to build new relations with theDominican Youth from all over the world. These two figures hold up a stand, and on this stand is the logo of theInternational Dominican Youth Movement (IDYM).
The burning torch carried by the dog symbolizes St. Dominic who is a burning torch in Church through the DominicanFamily. The figures hold this stand as a sign of the youth mission to spread the light into the world where there is confusion clarity; where there is lie, truth; and where there is despair, hope.
At the center is the Dominican Shield, which is surrounded by three figures of different colors. The figures with differentcolors represent diversity, the youth come from diverse backgrounds and countries. These figures form a circle whichindicate that globe, since Dominican youth come from different parts of the world. The use of the three colors of the threefigures represent the following: Green represents creation (humanity) and renewal, we gather for the Assembly as peoplefrom different backgrounds and joined as one for the renewal of our mission as Dominican youth. Red symbolizes that weare one in heart and our determination; as Dominican Youth we gather with one mission of preaching and are determinedto bring a positive change in the world. Yellow stands for joy, as Dominican youth we bring joy to the Assembly, as it is oftensaid that there is nothing as beautiful as a Dominican who is joyful.
This logo is a collaborative design by the MONTEBELLO DOMINICAN YOUTH MOVEMENT in South Africa. Every idea from group members made it possible for them to come up with this logo amazing logo for our Meeting and Assembly 2020: Njoo Uone (come and see), to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 15-20, 2020.
